Judges and Attorneys Want Integrity In Legal System

In an unusual move, nearly 70 former federal judges and prosecutors filed an "amicus" legal brief backing a $602,000 award for damages to a doctor who was wrongly convicted due to prosecutorial misconduct. The award was thrown out by a federal appeals court but the group feels that in this case the damages award was appropriate.

CONVICTION

The movie, Conviction, starring Hillary Swank is based on the true story of Kenny Waters who was wrongfully convicted for a heinous murder in Massachusetts. Betty Ann Waters, Kenny's sister, believed her brother was innocent and never gave up on him. Betty Ann puts herself through law school to fight for her brother and eventually gets the Innocence Project involved.
